The Mayor welcomes School Councils to the Town Hall

The Mayor, Councillor Mrs. M. Perfect was delighted to welcome St. Mary’s School Council on Friday 24th March and Ysgol Pen Coch School Council on Friday 21st April to the Town Hall for a tour of the Council Chamber. As well as a tour, the Children were given a talk on the history of the Town Hall and were shown the Mayoral Robes and Chains. It was a privilege for the Mayor to meet the teachers and children of both schools and she looks forward to welcoming other schools in the coming weeks.

Mayor’s Engagements

The Mayor, Cllr. Michelle Perfect met with Mr. Neil Hughes to thank him and the members of the Flint Litter Pickers for their outstanding contribution to the Town of Flint. The Mayor presented Mr. Hughes with a certificate and a monetary donation from the Mayor’s fund. Thank you from the Mayor, Town Councillors and residents of Flint, you are all very much appreciated.

The Mayor was busy over the King Charles III Coronation weekend, a Tea Party was held in the Town Hall, a visit to Rhiwlas Care Home and St.Mary & St. David Church for their Coronation Parties and on Monday, the Mayor attended the RNLI lighting of the Beacon where the wonderful Tim Eastwood played the Bagpipes, a wonderful weekend of celebrations.

The Mayor also hosted a ‘sleepover’ at the Town Hall with the Flint 1st Cubs – it was great to have a visit from North Wales Police and a visit to Flint Castle, hunting for the masons marks.

Town Hall Defibrillator

The Flint & District Lions Club kindly donated a Defibrillator which has been erected on the rear of the Town Hall building, if required, Dial 999 and you will be issued with the cabinet code.

We have Defibrillator training / demonstration on Thursday 4th May at 1pm at the Town Hall, all are welcome to attend, please confirm your attendance with the office 01352 734414 or email townclerk@flinttowncouncil.gov.wales

Mayor’s Engagements

The Mayor was privileged to visit the Foodbank in Flint to help hand over a very large donation made up of funds from the Flint Library and the Wednesday Knitting Group, which had come from the Flint Festival donations as well as Sainsbury’s staff donations.  The foodbank in Flint are short of Easter Eggs so if anyone is able to donate an Easter Egg, it would be much appreciated by the Food bank.

Community Coffee Morning every Wednesday

Flint Town Hall hold a Community Coffee morning every Wednesday, between 10am and 12pm at the Town Hall.

Refreshments are provided free of charge.

If you are feeling isolated, want to meet new friends, have an opportunity to meet your community, pop in and enjoy a brew, biscuit and a chat.

Groups also welcome, young and old.

We look forward to welcoming you.

HM KING CHARLES III CORONATION CELEBRATIONS

Flint Town Council invite applications for financial assistance from groups and residents within the Town in order to celebrate the HM King Charles III Coronation celebrations in May of this year.

It is envisaged that the celebrations may be in the form of street parties etc., and the Mayor would hope to visit each party which the Council contributes too.

Applications in writing, please, to the Town Clerk, Flint Town Council, Town Hall, Market Square, Flint, CH6 5NW.

no later than the 31st March, 2023.

Please note if your application is accepted, the Town Council will ask that the applicant and at least two other resident representatives from different addresses (proof of address required) attends the Town Hall to sign a declaration.  This is an Audit requirement.  Once completed, payment will be made direct to your bank account or we can issue a cheque (direct to bank is preferred).
