Mayor

The Mayor, Cllr. Michelle Perfect met with Mr. Neil Hughes to thank him and the members of the Flint Litter Pickers for their outstanding contribution to the Town of Flint. The Mayor presented Mr. Hughes with a certificate and a monetary donation from the Mayor’s fund. Thank you from the Mayor, Town Councillors and residents of Flint, you are all very much appreciated.

The Mayor was busy over the King Charles III Coronation weekend, a Tea Party was held in the Town Hall, a visit to Rhiwlas Care Home and St.Mary & St. David Church for their Coronation Parties and on Monday, the Mayor attended the RNLI lighting of the Beacon where the wonderful Tim Eastwood played the Bagpipes, a wonderful weekend of celebrations.

The Mayor also hosted a ‘sleepover’ at the Town Hall with the Flint 1st Cubs – it was great to have a visit from North Wales Police and a visit to Flint Castle, hunting for the masons marks.

The Mayor was privileged to visit the Foodbank in Flint to help hand over a very large donation made up of funds from the Flint Library and the Wednesday Knitting Group, which had come from the Flint Festival donations as well as Sainsbury’s staff donations.  The foodbank in Flint are short of Easter Eggs so if anyone is able to donate an Easter Egg, it would be much appreciated by the Food bank.

The Mayor officially opened ‘The Old Bank’ restaurant, we wish them every success.

The Mayor, Councillor Mrs. M. Perfect was delighted to welcome Ysgol Croes Atti Council on Friday 20th January and Ysgol Gwynedd School Council on Friday 10th February to the Town Hall for a tour of the Council Chamber. As well as a tour, the Children were given a talk on the history of the Town Hall and were shown the Mayoral Robes and Chains. It was a privilege for the Mayor to meet the teachers and children of both schools and she looks forward to welcoming other schools in the coming weeks.

The Mayor was very busy in the latter months of 2022, visiting residents of Llys Raddington and Rhiwlas, Bolingbroke Heights Christmas get together, RNLI Carol Concert, Presenting a Long Service Award at the Fire Station and attending a presentation on behalf of the Yacht Angling club.

On Monday 28^th November, the Mayor, Cllr. Mrs. Michelle Perfect welcomed a number of local groups to the Town Hall to receive a donation from monies raised at Rock the Castle in July.

The Mayor was honoured to present the money to these groups as they are an integral part of our community and benefit so many residents in Flint. Most are run by volunteers. 

The presentation took place in the Council Chamber and then the guests enjoyed some light refreshments in the Mayor’s Parlour.

The Mayor said ‘Rock the Castle is our biggest fundraising event of Flint Festival where attendees give money through ticket sales and in buckets on the day, as a town council we then give this money out to local groups identified by the Mayor each year.  It is a privilege to give this money out to those groups chosen and I hope it goes some way to make a difference throughout our community of Flint’.

The Mayor, Councillor Michelle Perfect held her Civic Service on Sunday 3rd July. The Service was held at St. John’s Flint and Bagillt United Reformed Church, the Service was preceded by a parade from the Town Hall.  It was a delight to see so many residents lining the streets to watch and the parade and it goes without saying, a big thank you to all who took part in the parade and to the Mayor’s Chaplin.
