D-Day Remembrance

On Friday 6th June, Flint Town Council marked the 81st anniversary of D-Day with a short but poignant service held at the Town Cenotaph.

The Mayor, Cllr. Russ Davies and Deputy Mayor Cllr. Elaine Jones were joined by fellow Councillors, representatives from the Royal British Legion, a local Police Officer, and members of the public. The service, led by Ordinand R. Dawson, was a moment to remember the bravery, sacrifice, and unity of those who took part in the D-Day landings on 6th June 1944 — a turning point in World War II and a defining moment in our shared history.

A wreath was laid by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, followed by a two-minute silence to honour the fallen and reflect on the courage of those who fought for our freedom.

We will remember them.
